Dark & Twisted Villain
The dark and twisted villain seems to be the one we are most acquainted with in novels and on television. But sometimes we apply the dark twisted villain thought pattern to other types of villains where it doesn’t belong. The dark and twisted villain is evil. They are mentally or emotionally deficient. This group includes psychopaths, sociopaths and other mentally ill characters. The dark and twisted villain does reprehensible things that we can’t even begin to comprehend. This type of villain usually is in a suspense or thriller.
Darkness pervades the way they think and behave. Oftentimes people don’t even realize that they are evil. They are suave, sophisticated, intelligent and good looking. They have snowed lots of people, but in the core they are evil. They often are arrogant and look down on other people as if they are inferior. There are many variations of this villain. It is advantageous to look at FBI profiles for these types of criminals, so you can create a believable one.
